he uses a swab to wipe a spinach leaf randomly from a bunch of spinach leaves and then swabs a bacterial plate. he does this same procedure for 10 different spinach bunches that correspond to bacterial plates numbered #1 -#10. for on plate he just takes out a swab and swabs plate #11 without swabbing any spinach to be sure his procedure and plates don\'t cause growth of bacteria. for plate #12, he swabs some of the dangerous bacteria that he is looking for to make sure they can grow on his plates under the same conditions as the other plates. all of the plates are examined for the growth of bacteria on the next day.
