Explain the difference between managerial contingency and task contingency?

Managerial contingency is the ability of the leaders and managers to control, motivate and guide people under different circumstances. The management style should be dynamic which is adaptable to different situations in the organization. Managerial contingency is evaluated on the basis of the relations between the leader and the members of the organization, task structure: whether the task structure needs to be highly structured and the use of power and position by the leaders.

A contingency task is alternative task to another which cannot be successfully completed. A contingency task itself may have one contingency task attached to it, The task is known in advance and is executed in the event of a failure. In other words its a pre-planned backup by the management in case of failure.
