Is the propagated(random) error in the mean larger or smaller than the standard deviation? why?

Solution

the propagated error is smaller than the standard deviation

WHY?

Because the standard deviation is only how long the values are separated but the propagated error is the error that you make when take the values of the mean (uncertainty)
