a flywheel with a radius of .2m starts from rest and experiences a constant angular acceleration of .67 rad/s^2. what is the TOTAL acceleration of a point on its rim after it has turned through 60 degrees?
the answer is .31 m/s^2 but I don\'t understand why. please show steps so that I can understand how to do it.
Solution
W^2 = W0^2 + 2*alpha*thetha
=> W^2 0 + 2*0.67*60/180*0.67
=> W = 0.54705 rad/s
a net = sqrt ( w^2r)^2 + alpha*r^2)
=> a net = sqrt ( (0.54705^2*0.2)^2 + (0.67*0.2)^2) = 0.1467 m/s^2
