Find the length of the base of an isosceles triangle with perimeter 25 inches and a length of a leg 8 in.

Given Perimeter of an isosceles triangle = 25 inches.

We know , Perimeter of a Isosceles triangle = 2a+b where a= each leg of the triangle and b is base of triangle.

Legs in an isosceles triangle are nothing but the similar sides and base is the third different side.

Given one of the leg is 8 inches. Therefore other leg will also be 8 inches.

Therefore perimeter= 2(8) + (Third side or base)

25= 2(8)+ base [perimeter is given - 25inches]
