1- What are the effects of inductance and inertia in a dc motor?

clear hand writing and I need short Ans and has to be correct,, thanks

Solution

1.Ans) Inductance in dc motor opposes the instant change in armature current ,causing time constant L/R introduced in the response so that armature current will rise exponentially

Inertia plays the similar role as inductance but it opposes the instant change in rotor speed ,introducing time constant of J/B in the speed response

With both the above effects whenever voltage applied is increased, armature current will take time constant of L/R to increase to that value and as torque is proportional to current ,it causes speed to increase but due to inertia speed will increase slowly with a time constant of J/B
