What is the direction of rotation in Volleyball after winning the service?
Can the back row players block and hit the ball in Volleyball.
From where on the court service in Volleyball should be executed?
How many touches is a team allowed to have before getting the ball over the net?
Solution
There are six players on court in a Volleyball team, who each must rotate one position clockwise every time their team wins back service from the opposition.
Yeah... so back row players are not allowed to participate in a \"successful block\". This might be a little confusing to explain, so here are some situations to help.
1. Back row player jumps up to block the ball. Nobody else jumps up to block with him/her. The blocker DOES NOT touch the ball at all. This attempt was LEGAL.
2. Back row player jumps up to block the ball. Nobody else jumps up to block with him/her. The blocker DOES touch the ball. This is an ILLEGAL block.
3. Back row player jumps up to block the ball. At least one front row player jumps up to block with him/her. NO BLOCKER contacts the ball. This is a LEGAL block.
4. Back row player jumps up to block the ball. At least one front row player jumps up to block with him/her. At least ONE of the blockers touch the ball. It does not matter if this player is front row or back row. Since a back row player was part of a \"successful block\" this is an ILLEGAL BLOCK.
The volleyball serve must be executed by the player that is in the right back position. If in contact with the floor, the server must not step across or contact the service line until after contact with the ball has been made. If the server jumps when serving, the last contact with the floor must be behind the service line. The server can then land on or in front of the service line.
The server can\'t be in contact with the ground outside the service zone when making contact with the ball. After the contact, the server may step outside the service zone or into the court.
The team may touch the ball up to 3 times but individual players may not touch the ball twice consecutively.
