NMOS will connect in parallel for OR gate and in series for AND gate.

In the above circuit

W and Y NMOS are in parallel there fore these form OR gate operation W + Y

X and Z NMOS are in parallel there for these form OR gate operation X + Z

W + Y and X + Z are in series these will form AND operation (W+Y).(X+Z)

Since pullup is Q5 PMOS which complements the function
