Consider the experiment in which a person flips a loaded coin such that head is three times more likely to appears than tail. Suppose that the coin is flipped 3 times.
Solution
Let X---> represents number of heads appeared
P(x)----> represents corresponding probability value
Suppose the coin is flipped 3 times then the expected number of Heads will appear
E(x) = 0 x 1/8 + 1 x 3/8 + 2 x 3/8 + 3 x 1/8 = 12/8
==> 1.5
Therefore the expected number of heads can flipped out of 3 times is 1.5.
| x | 0 | 1 | 2 | 3 |
| P(x) | 1/8 | 3/8 | 3/8 | 1/8 |
