Please show all the steps in detail A Butterworth low pass filter is required to have a peak gain of 25dB, a gain of 5dB at 20kHz and a gain 35dB at 100 kHz. a) Determine the minimum order of the filter b) Find the cutoff frequency needed c) Find the actual gain of the filter at 100 kHz

Solution

The Butterworth filter is the best compromise between attenuation and phase response. It has no ripple in the pass band or the stop band, and because of this is sometimes called a maximally flat filter.
