the workpiece is 230(HK) however the chip from the same workipiece is of 316(HK).There is increase in the hardness value of the chip during the process.This can be accounted from the plastic deforamtion taking place on the rake face of the tool during machining.Due to high heat produced due to friction between chip and rake face the chips sticks to the rake face which leads to the income chip being being obstructed in its path.This causes the plastic deformation.
