Write the equation of a line that is parallel to y3x2 and go

Write the equation of a line that is parallel to y=3x-2 and goes through (0,0). Write in slope intercept form.

Solution

We know that the parallel lines have equal slopes. Hence the required line have same slope as the given line.

Now we have given y= 3x -2. Compare it with y= mx+b we have m= 3

Now required line have slope m= 3 and passes through (0,0)

therefore point slope form is

y- y1 = m(x-x1)

=> y- 0 = 3 (x- 0)

=> y= 3x , be the equation of line in slope intercept form

Write the equation of a line that is parallel to y=3x-2 and goes through (0,0). Write in slope intercept form.SolutionWe know that the parallel lines have equal
