Solution
1). Behaviourist: This is proposed by the behavioural theorists Skinner. As per his theory, children imitate what they see and hear and all behaviour is acquired by learning, so it can be unlearned by either the positive reinforcement or negative reinforcement. Skinner proposed that the speech of children is shaped by adults by reinforcing the babbling of infants.
2). Nativist: Nativist Noam Chomsky proposed a “LAD”, Language Acquisition Device, and believed that children are born with certain innate skills of language learning, which determines their speed of learning. They can learn the native language at a high speed and can improve their grammatical skills without much effort. The same inheritance factor is responsible for the skill of learning multiple languages in certain people.
3). Interactionist: Lev Vygotsky described the concept of “zone of proximal development,” which explains how the children learn better from the other children, i.e. collaborative learning. School environment play an important role in improving the intellectual skills of the children by means of classroom teachings and also learning from the other children. Interaction with the other school children also influences the development of communication skills in the society. Children learn from the other children in a better way than do from the adults.
