Use rational exponents to simplity Vab20 Solution1 sqrtab20

Use rational exponents to simplity. V(ab)20

Solution

1) ( sqrt(ab))^20

sqrt is equivalent to raised to power 1/2

therefore , sqrt(ab)^20 = (ab)^20/2

on simplifying the exponents we get

(ab)^10

2) (sqrt (6mn))^5

= (6mn)^5/2

3) (4x^6)^5/2

= 4 ^ 5/2 * x^30/2

= (4^5/2)*(x^15)

4) 16^3/4

applying exponent property

a^m/n = nth root ( a^m )

therefore , 16^3/4 = 4th root ( 16^3)

5) (xy)^1/9

in radical form

= 9th root (xy)
