The coop student calculates the area of lot 1 shown in Fig. P3.4 as 94,640 m^2. Is this the correct answer? If not, find the correct answer. Figure P3.4 Dimension of lot I in the new subdivision.
Solution
Area of rectangular part=200*300=60000m^2
Area of traingular part=0.5*200*200*tan60=20000*sqrt(3)=34641m^2
Total area =60000+34641=94641m^2
Hence the area calculated by student is correct within the limits.
