Why have humans not developed resistance to microbial toxins?

How would you determine whether a particular pilus on group A streptococci is required for the organism\'s pathogenesis? use a tissue culture model.

Solution

(a) Human have a large and a complex genome in comparison to microbes.. Due to this factor, humans can not undergo gene transfer from one organism to other as in case of microbes which it undergoes very easily hence can transfer the resistance gene easily which is not possible in humans cases..

Moreover, humans also do not face such environmental fluctuations related to toxins exposure such that their gene gets mutated or resistance. Hence humans have immune systems which prevent the body from bacterial toxins...

(b) to determine the pathogenesis of A pilus we can remove the pilus and allow the Streptococcus to infect the organism cells.. Then we can check the effect of microbes on the cell whether the cell is affected or not..!!
