11.   At what point in the ECG would you expect the ventricular volume to be the greatest? Please explain your reply.
A    Just before the QRS complex
B    Just before the P wave
C    Just after the P wave
D    Just after the T wave

Solution

The ventricular volume is the greatest during the end diastolic volume . It can be defined as the volume of blood in the left or the right ventricle towards the end of diastole , or just before the beginning of systole. The ventricular contractions are shown by the QRS complex . Thus , the end diastolic volume would be highest just before this peak occurs .

Answer - A , just before the QRS. complex

As the QRS peak represents the depolarisation of the ventricles .
