How many minutes would it take drizzle with a diameter of 20

How many minutes would it take drizzle with a diameter of 200µm to reach the surface if it falls at its terminal velocity from the base of a cloud 576 ft above the ground? (Assume the air is saturated beneath the cloud, the drizzle does not evaporate, and the air is still.) Remember, there are 60 seconds in a minute.

Solution

200 mu m drizzle has a terminal velocity = 0.70 m/s

576 ft = 175.6 m

delta t = 175.6 / 0.70

= 250.86 s = 4.18 m
