Solve sin2 x cos2 x 1Solutionin a rightr angled triangle w

Solve sin^2 x + cos^2 x = 1

Solution

in a rightr angled triangle we have

sin(x) = Perpandicular/hypotenuse = P/H

cos(x) = Base/hypotenuse = B/H

sin2(x) + cos2(x) = (P/H)2 + (B/H)2 = (P2 + B2)/H2

using pythagoras theorem, P2 + B2 = H2

=> sin2(x) + cos2(x) = H2/H2

=> sin2(x) + cos2(x) = 1 (proved)

sin(x) = Perpandicular/hypotenuse = P/H

 Solve sin^2 x + cos^2 x = 1Solutionin a rightr angled triangle we have sin(x) = Perpandicular/hypotenuse = P/H cos(x) = Base/hypotenuse = B/H sin2(x) + cos2(x)
