Explicit knowledge is the one that can be verbalized and easily articulated. Example is while driving on the road, I saw an arrow that pointed to the destination I was going. I took a decision of following the direction rather that taking another route. Because this is explicit that directions are not wrong.

Tacit knowledge is one that cannot be easily tranferred to another person or cannot be verbalized. Example is recognizing the face that you have seen long time back. It cannot be described or verbalized.
