Against all advice you want to clone your ailing pet MrMiss
Solution
Quiescent cell or resting cell is used for cloning. In cell cycle there are G0, G1, S, G2 and mitotic phase. G0 is the resting cell which leaves the cell cycle but re-enters at any time. G1 is the first gap phase which prepares cell for growth. S is the synthesis phase where DNA replication occurs. G2 is the second gap phase for cell growth. In the mitotic phase cell division occurs.
A cell can quit the cell cycle at G1 phase and can re-enter at the same phase. Cells in the G0 phase is the adult cell with all the genetic material required to replicate or clone.
Nucleus from the oocyte of the desired female animal is removed and nucleus of the resting cell (Quiescent cell) of desired male or same female should be collected and injected into oocyte. The oocyte is then transferred to the reproductive chamber from where the oocyte is collected. This will give a clone of desired animal.
