Discuss the difference between Clinical and Statistical sign
Discuss the difference between Clinical and Statistical significance
Solution
Clinical significance is to whether the treatment effect is practically important, taht is, whether it really has a genuine, noticeable effect on daily life.
Statistical significance, however, cares about whether the treatment effect \"didn\'t just happen by chance\", regardless of that effect is small or not. It just wants to make sure it didn\'t just happen.
For example, if a certain supplement consistently add 5 seconds to your sleep, then that could be statistically significant (since it always happens), but it is not clinically significant, because an additional 5 seconds of sleep does practically nothing to your life.
