Use the echelon method to solve the following system of two

Use the echelon method to solve the following system of two equations in two unknowns. Check your answer. x + y = 8 6x - y = 27 Select the correct choice below and, it necessary, fill in the answer box to complete your choice. The solution is (Type an ordered pair.) There are infinitely many solutions. The solution is where y is any real number. There is no solution.

Solution

Given equations are

x + y= 8_____________(1)

6x - y = 27___________(2)

From equation (1)

y = 8 - x

Putting y in equation (2)

6x - (8 - x) = 27

6x - 8 - x =27

7x = 35

x = 5

From equation (1)

y = 8 - x

y = 8 - 5 = 3

The solution is ( x = 5 and y = 3)

 Use the echelon method to solve the following system of two equations in two unknowns. Check your answer. x + y = 8 6x - y = 27 Select the correct choice below
