For this reason, you might find the snake curled up on a rock, basking in the sun to get warm. Unlike humans and other mammals, snakes and other reptiles are exothermic (sometimes called \"cold-blooded\") which means that their body temperature is similar to the air temperature.

snakes and other reptiles are exothermic means their body temperature is determined by temperature of surrondings.snakes are not cold blooded animals.snakes have control on his temperatures.the snake can move in and out of the sun,and it is refered as thermo regulation.that why a snake temperature is different from air temperature......snakes and other reptiles have to get warm by sitting out in the sun before they do anything active like moving around or eating. most land animals have do work best when they are warm.

if a snake can tolerate more cool temperatures than hot .if it is more hot the snake brain and cell damage.so snakes can resites in cool when there is hot.when it is cool there metabolism and movement goes down,if it is not a problem for a snake,but slow moving snake is a problem when a predator came ,the activites of snake come slow down. mostly, some enzymes are active when there is heat this is relation of snakes to the enzymes.snakes mostly hunt in summer and active in summer........
