What is a high probability behavior a person usually engages in regularly? What is a low-probability behavior that a person would like to increase? how could a person use the Premack Principle to increase the low-probability behavior ?

Solution

High probability behavior is a behavior a person likes to spend more time doing, when he is left free. Like watching his favourite movie or sleeping or enjoying his hobbies. Regularly a person engages in things that he likes, he loves, and that give him pleasure. Generally in free time or when a person is left alone, he prefers to do those things which he is not permitted to do more often normally.

The low probability behavior that are going to benefit the person in long run, are likely to be increased by the person. For instance eating green vegetables or doing physical exercise daily, cannot be possible for a person to do willingly or happily. But at a certain maturity of age when he comes to know that these things will be beneficial for my life, he tries to adapt them and increase them.

Premack Principle says that the High-Probability behaviors reinforce or increase the Low-Probability behaviors. For example, \'\'finishing the \"green vegetables soup\'\' (Low probability behavior) is compulsary for children for \"playing Pinball game\"(High probability behavior). Here, the practice of eating green vegetables soup is being reinforced by giving them award in form of letting them play their favourite pinball game after doing it.
