Name and describe in your own words the four sources of vari
Name and describe (in your own words) the four sources of variance which make up phenotypic variance. Four sentences.
Solution
Sources of variance which make up phenotypic variance are
1. Mutations: In mutations the copy of an allele changes to some other allelic form in one generation. The frequency of mutation will be little in the beginning but in the later generations it\'s frequency will increase leading to variance.
2. Recombination: The phenotypic variance caused by the recombination may be much faster. This happens when two individuals mate and their genes recombine to produce variance.
3. Migration: Migration of one population into other populations with different gene frequencies also leads to phenotypic variance.
4. Negative inbreeding or outbreeding: This is the phenomenon in which mating between the individuals occurs who are not relatives. This is also a source of phenotypic variance.
