As a producy manager of plasma televisions I shall emphasize on the followinf features of plasma televisions:

Technology:

In normal televisions, small picture elements called pixels are of highest importance for display. A pixel in a color TV is comprised of color bundle consisting of red, green and blue. With careful control any color in the spectrum is created using these three. In plasma TVs, however, the technology behind pixel formation and functioning changes. In plasma TVs, pixels are created with the use of three very small containers of an inert gas like neon or xenon. In a normal plasma screen there are thousands of these containers and these are located and sandwiched in between two electrically charged plates which result in the display. The organization and the arrangement of the display are controlled using a computer processing unit.

Resolution:

As one of the high points of these TVs, plasmas are attributed in being able to provide images in varying resolutions mainly higher ones. Additionally, plasma TVs have the ability to display various forms of images as well such as, full HDTV, DTV, and computer based signals like, XGA, SVGA and VGA.

Scan Lines:

Normal or standard TVs using the CRT technology uses an electron beam to stimulate the phosphors to propagate an image. This electron beam does this by scanning top to bottom in equally paced intervals. In this process, in the display scan lines visible adding to the lowering of image quality.

However, plasma TVs does not have this issue since it includes a technology called line doubling which makes the image quality improve even when VCRs and TV casts are displayed.

Color Accuracy:

In this aspect, there\'s no match for plasma TVs since they are able to display 16.77 million colors. As a result, these TVs are able to produce incredible realism in image propagation.

Widescreen Aspect Ratio:

Almost all of the Plasma TVs in the market provide excellent widescreen aspect ratio capabilities in terms of 16:9. These two numbers refers to the height and width of the TV. While this is the accurate aspect ratio for HDTV, this also provides the ability to view DVD movies in widescreen which becomes as close to watching it in a theater.

Flat Screen:

These TVs are as flat as it can be. Perfectly flat with no curvature at all, these TVs do not confront the problem of edge distortion seen in CRT TVs.

Viewing Angle:

Plasma TVs are known to provide the best and widest viewing experience of any TV in the market today. It provides 160 degrees of viewing angle which allows a huge amount of people to enjoy the same image quality from a variety of locations in the same room.
