If a motor shaft is holding 100 pounds in the -y direction and the torque of the motor only can provide 50 pounds of force in the +y direction at that location. Is there any motor that would continuously provide that 50 pounds of force in the +y direction but start to rotate in the -y direction(so no stalling) because the 100 pounds overcomes the 50 pound force? If there is a way to do this, how can you do it without wearing out the motor?

Solution

Place an induction motor that can capable of giving torque of 50 pounds in +y direction..we can change the rotation direction of induction motor by changing the one phase of supply.
