Needs some help on an excel formula regarding conditional formatting. I am using a Mac with Office if that makes any difference.
1.Create a conditional formatting rule that says that if the value in cell M of a particular row is 1, then the cells in that same row in columns B-E should have a red background and white bolded text.
2. Use the format painter to apply this same conditional formatting rulse to the columns B-E for rows 4-273
Thanks!
Solution
Go to Conditional Formating, click on Manage Rules
Click on New Rule and selecct \" use a formula to determinewhich cells to format \"
In the options below \"Format Values where this formula is true\" put =$M1=1.
This means if M column and row 1 is equal to 1 than apply this condition.
Click on Format and apply formating as required and then click ok.
You will be returned to Rules manager pop up.
In applies to select the column to want to be formatted. in you case select B1 to E1.and press ok
Copy the complete row and copy the format in all the rows.
will it paint the format in all rows.
