With 6 wins and 3 losses, the Falcons are in not quite in prime position to get into the playoffs. Ideally, they would like to maintain their last wild card position and squeak into playoffs after a strong start and a current fizzle, which they can considering they are up on game on the Giants who have a 5 wins and 4 losses record.

a) Assuming that the Falcons’ record so far is quite indicative of their successes probability in the remaining games, what is the probability that they can avoid a losing record at the end of the season and end with at least 8 wins.

b) Since the Giants team will not remain idle, what is the probability that the Giants would not reach a winning record (that is, win less 8 games).

c) Based on your results from above, are you optimistic about the Falcons chances to maintain their lead?

d) Are there any potential concerns for the analysis conducted in parts a-c?
