Problem 1 Problem 2 Problem 3Solutionx2 16y2x x2 4xyx4y It

Problem #1

Problem #2

Problem #3

Solution

(x^2 -16y^2)/x * (x^2 -4xy)/(x+4y)

It can be written as : (x^2 -16y^2 = (x+4y)(x-4y)

(x^2 -4xy = x(x-4y) ( taking out x as common)

So, (x^2 -16y^2)/x * (x^2 -4xy)/(x+4y) = {(x+4y)(x-4y)/x }* {x(x-4y)/(x+4y)}

= (x-4y)^2

2) { 1/3x -1/2}/7x

Taking 6x as lcd in numerator:

( 2 -3x)/42x^2

3) 5/x^7 - 6/x

taking x^7 as lcd in denoimtaor:

(5 -6x^6/x^7
