I beams are used in the ordination to show the shape in an I

‘I’ beams are used in the ordination to show the shape in an ‘I’ form. What happens when they are used in the ‘H’ form?

Solution

Answer:-When I beam is used as H section structure collapse. Because maximum compression load acts on top of the section. Maximum tensile strength acts on bottom of section. H section cannot bear maximum load . Due to this reason I section cannot used as H section. These forces are greatest at the very top and very bottom. So to make the stiffest beam with the least amount of material we would want the material to be only at the top and bottom sides.
