7. Five major pollution -

Air Pollution - Any contamination in the atmosphere which disturbs the natural composition of air and makes it unfit for us.

Air Pollutant - Chlorofluro carbons. They are released from referigerators and air conditioner. They cause ozone hole. To avoid this, use of referigerators and air conditioner should be reduced.

Water Pollution - Contamination in water resources causes water pollution. It makes water unfit for all life forms.

Water pollutant - harmful chemicals from various industries, oil spills. It kills water life forms. Such irresponsible contamination should be checked by treating it and making it harmless.

Soil pollution - contamination of soil is soil pollution

Soil pollutant - heavy use of inorganic pesticides can cause soil pollution. It can make soil less fertile and harm the microfauna of soil. To prevent this, careless use of inorganic pesticides should be checked.

Noise pollution - undesirable high level of noises in environment. It can cause wildlife disturbances and hearing loss.

Noise pollutant - air plane noises, traffic noise

Radioactive pollution - contamination of air, water earth with radioactive substances. The damage is irreversible.

Pollutant - nuclear waste from nuclear power plant

Disposal of nuclear waste should be done properly.

It is important to take care of loss of biodiversity as it will eventually disturb the ecosystem of environment which will cause further environmental loss.
