So the immunological barriers or we can say, natural barriers are present to fight the infections caused in the urinary tract.

Immune cells communicate with each other so as to fight the UTI , as these infections can also arise as a result of invasion of intestinal bacteria into the urethra.

Main barrier to fight the UTI are Neutrophulls, which keep circulating in the blood and rush to the site of infection, and kill the bacteriaby either phagocytosis or by reeleasing some toxins. and the function of neutrophils is regulated by macrophages, so that the damage of neighbouing healthy cells is minimum.

Other natural barrier is urine, which washes out the bacteria from the urethra and prevents the adherence of infecting bacteria in the urinary tract.Kidney also produces some proteins which contains mannose and helps preventing the infectitious bacteria adherence to the tract.
