Advantages and disadvantages of using dynamic IP address:-

Advantages:-
1] Dynamic IP addresses is favorable for the clients
2] It can connect to the Internet immediately.
3] This saves cost.
4] Avoids trouble.
5] The client computers must get dynamic IP address by DHCP. It is easy to configure the network.By using DHCP the client side computers can get both the IP address and DNS getway automatically.
6] Dynamic Ip address can be used with lage LAN. For example when we are using more number of systems.

Disadvantages:-
1] A user without a static IP address cannot be addressed directly from the Internet.This is a major problem when setting up VPNs.
2] Example: If a computer A wants to communicate with Computer B using a VPN on the Internet computer A needs the remote computer\'s IP address. If B only has a dynamic address, A cannot know that address and therefore cannot contact B.
3] Servers need a static IP address for network drive mapping, port forwarding, application connections etc.
