1.at the position it meet the the crosspoint of horizontal axis it seems zero voltage.

2.it certainly put the incoming signal grounded.it appeared as straight line inlined to horizental axis.

4.it acts on the time scale ,so the pan of the wave form may be wider or shrinker through the horizontal axis.

5.vertical position control the amplitude,horizontal position controls the time period of osc and trigger control some external addition of voltages.

6.here it is 1:1 as 1 div/1volt(vertical) and 1:1 as 1 div/1sec(horizontal)
