This is for biostatisctics and refers to hypothesis testing. I am unsure whether I would run a 2 sample t test, ANOVA or Chi Square for this problem. Does fertilizer treatment change the corn cob yield? There are 6 different treatments.

Solution

We use 2-sample t test when we have 2 independent samples.

We use ANOVA to compare 3 or more means of independent groups.

We use chi square test as a goodness of fit or for independence.

Hence, as there are 6 different treatments here that we want to compare the means, we do ANOVA.
