1. Mr. Lohas been instructed to stop taking the antipsychotic from his husband in an effort to improve his mood. He is not happy with this decision, nor is his husband. Mr.Lo’s husband states “…he is happier now…how dare you tell him to stop taking the medication!” What is your initial nursing response to Mr. Lo’s husband? Following your initial response, how do you explain to the Lo’s why taking his husband’s medication is not a good idea.

1st rule of thumb in medical field is prescription is not transferable from one patient to another patient, if someone doing such thing then it is very very critical to control the disorder or disease in patient who taking such medication.
Mr Lohas husband is not a doctor , hence he is not a approved physician , second things here there is no involvement of pharmacist that is also very critical. Such medication to Mr Lohas may create very lethal effect on him.
Antipsychotic drug is directly acting on CNS due to which wrong therapy may create critical health problem of patient.
Before treatment of any psychotic disorder there must be proper screening of patient , then health practitioner make the tree diagram for the treatment of such patient.
Mr. Lohas may be genetically, physically and by other way is different from his husband , hence it is not appropriate to take such medication.
