In the circuit shown below W1 10000 lbf W2 20000 lbf D1p

In the circuit shown below, W1 = 10,000 lbf, W2 = 20,000 lbf, D1,p = D2,p = 6 in, and D1,r = D2,r = 3 in. There is no friction, and both cylinders are full of oil. If cylinder #2 is extending at 3 in/s, what is the speed of cylinder #1?

Solution

sol : mv2/r = constant

m1v12/r1 =m2v22/r2

we know w = mg

m= w/g

w1v12/r1   = w2v22/r2

10000*v12/3 = 20000*9/3

v12   = 18

v1   = 4.243 in/s

In the circuit shown below, W1 = 10,000 lbf, W2 = 20,000 lbf, D1,p = D2,p = 6 in, and D1,r = D2,r = 3 in. There is no friction, and both cylinders are full of o
