Write the contrapositive of the following (true) statement from number theory:
\"n is a prime number implies that n=2 or n is an odd number.\"
Your answer must contain a conjunction in its premise.
Solution
The negation of \"n is a number is number\" is \"n is not a prime number\".
The negation of \"n=2 or n is an odd number\" is \"n not equal to 2 or n is not an odd number\".
So using if...then conjuction we can write the contrapositive of the statement as
\"If n not equal to 2 or n is not an odd number, then n is not a prime number.\"
