Like the blood vessels of circulatory system, lymphatic system shows lymph vessels. Like the blood capillaries transport red blood within them, the lymph capillaries have colorless lymph fluid within them. The lymph capillaries have been seen running along with the blood vessels, mingled with them and function with them throughout the body. The lymphatic vessels collect the excess fluid which has been leaked into the surrounding cells from the blood vessels to keep them alive. Always the pressure in the circulatory system has been quite higher to the lymphatic system pressure. Thoracic duct originated from stomach has been the largest lymph vessel and lymph capillaries have been the smallest lymph vessels. The lymph vessels shows lymph nodes and these lymph nodes have been the precursors to synthesize the immune molecules. Afferent lymph vessels have been found entering into lymph nodes and these afferent vessels carry the lymph towards the lymph nodes. EDEMA results due to improper draining of lymph from the vessels to circulatory system.
