Find the slope of a line that contains the two points 28 12S

Find the slope of a line that contains the two points. (-2,8) (1,2)

Solution

Let Point P1=(-2,8) and P2=(1,2)

X co-ordinate of P1 is X1= -2 and that of P2 is X2= 1

Y co-ordinate of P2 is Y1= 8 and that of P2 is Y2= 2

Formula of Slope (m) is

Slope (m) = (Y2-Y1) / (X2-X1) = ( 2 - 8) / ( 1 - (-2) ) = (-6) / (3) = -2

Slope (m) = -2
