let the number of men on the trip = 2x

let the number of women on the trip = 7x

there are 100 more women on the trip than men

==> 7x = 2x + 100

==> 7x - 2x = 100

==> 5x = 100

==> x = 20

Hence total number of men = 2x = 2(20) = 40

Half of the men are wearing sunglasses

==> number of men wearing sun glasses = 40/2 = 20

==> number of men not wearing sun glasses = 40 - 20 = 20
