How do you find the 6 trigonometric functions? show work

Solution

Given two sides of right triangle are 3 , 7

from pythagorous theorem hypotenuse2 = 32 +72

Opposide side of angle = 3 , Adjacent side of angle = 7

==> hypotenuse = 58

1) sin = (opposite side)/(hypotenuse) = 3/58

2) cos = (adjacent side)/(hypotenuse) = 7/58

3) tan = sin/cos = (opposite side)/(adjacent side) = 3/7

4) cot = cos/sin = (adjacent side)/(opposite side) = 7/3

5) sec = 1/cos = (hypotenuse)/(adjacent side) = 58 /7

6) csc = 1/sin = (hypotenuse)/(opposite side) = 58 /3
