If you increase or decrease the page size in a system, how (and why) will it affect

     (a) the size of the page tables, and

     (b) the TLB miss ratio?

Solution

1) Size of page table is inversly proportional to page size as the smaller the page size the larger number of pages would be required hence a larger page table. So by this definition of we increase the page size , size of page table decreases and if we decrease the page size then size of page table increases.

2) TLB miss ratio is affected in terms of larger the page size that means same size of TLB (cache would be available) which means less number of TLB miss.
