Numbers under each week show how much you plan to spend for the respective task in that week. For example, you plan to spend $16,000 for task B in week 3.

Question 3) Calculate BAC, ETC and EAC for the overall project? How big is the project budget variance at completion (VAC)? Do you need extra money at completion?

Solution

1. Planned value= 50% of the value of the total work

PV= 50/100 * 16000

= 8000 USD

Earned value= 40% of value of the total work

= 40/100 *16000

= 6400 USD

Actual cost = 65 USD spent so far

CV = EV -AC

= 6400 - 65

= 6335

BAC = PV +AV +AC

= 8000 + 65 + 16000

= 24065 USD

CI = EV /AC = 6400/65 = 98.4

SI = EV / PV = 6400/8000 = 0.8

BAC = 16000 USD

ETC = estimate at completion - Actual cost

= 16000- 65

= 15935 USD

EAC = BAC / CPI

= 16000/98.4

= 162.6 USD
