A circle has circumference 10ft Find the lengths of the arcs

A circle has circumference 10ft. Find the lengths of the arcs that subtend the following angles at the center of the circle.

A) 10 degrees

B) 30 degrees

C) 90 degrees

D) 110 degrees

E) 120 degrees

F) 180 degrees

Solution

Since circumference is 10ft, the radius is 10/2*pi = 1.59

Now, we can just mutiply circumference by factor of degree of arc/ 360 to get the answer.

A) 10 degree = 10*(10/360) = .278

B) 30 degree = 10*30/360 = .395

C) 90 degree = 1.2

D) 110 degree = 110/360 *10 = 3.056

E) 120 degree = 1/3 *10 = 3.333

F) 180 degree = 1/2 *10 = 5
