Problem 2 In order to calibrate a protein analyzer a regress

Problem 2. In order to calibrate a protein analyzer, a regression equation is determined between three independent variables and the dependent variable which is the protein. Each variable is measured for 15 samples with the following results:

Solution

Multiple regression is solved using a software like excel.

Paste the above data in excel, and Go to DATA , select DATA ANALYSIS, select REGRESSION, select the Y range (Protein) and X range (A, B and C columns). Click OK.

Regression equation is given by the estimates of coefficients of A, B and C, and intercept term.

Result of regression:

We use the Coefficients column.

Equation:

Proteins = 18.02108 + 0.04219*A - 0.2029*B - 0.22957*C
