Solution

15) Answer is option C)

16) Ans. Option is A) HSS is cutting tool material.

17).Answer option D).

A build up edge (BUE) is a zone of hardened material close to the cutting edge and can be observed usually at low cutting speeds. As soon as a critical load is reached the BUE breaks away from the rake face/cutting edge. The process of building up and breaking away is repeated several thousand times per second. While doing this, material of the tool can be torn away. Additionally, the BUE can damage the freshly machined surface, when it is pressed under the flank face, due to its increased hardness compared to the work. This may also lead to flank wear.
