Why does your skin remain red after a bad sunburn?

Solution

part A: Ans: \"B\": INFLAMMATION CAUSES INCREASED BLOOD FLOW

REASON: During sunburn the epidermal cells of skin get damaged due to uv rays of sun. In response of damaged or killed epidermal cells immune system of our body becomes active which increase the blood supply via open blood capillaries at affected area to clean up the mess of damaged cell. This increased blood supply at affected area cause redness.

part B:Ans: \"B\":DESTRUCTION OF UNDERLYING PAIN RECEPTORS

REASON: Third degree burn is less painfull than second and first degree burn because in third degree burn there is a destruction of epidermis, dermis and deeper tissues which causes destruction of nerve endings and pain receptors results in less pain in burn.
